My name is Sarah Vorsanger and I am originally from New York City. I first came to Israel in August of 2018 on Taglit, and I knew I had to come back. While on Israel by Design, I worked for an environmental nonprofit called the Israeli Society for Ecology and Environmental Sciences, where I wrote for their news outlet, Zavit. During my time at Zavit, I used my background in Environmental and Marine Science in order to communicate science to an international audience. I truly enjoyed my time with Israel by Design, and I wouldn’t change the experience I gained during my five months internship.
My favorite article that I wrote is about
sewage problems between Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Sarah loves to travel throughout Israel, attend beach clean-ups, and meet new people! She was offered a position after the completion of her internship with Zavit and currently works for them remotely.
Here is another article Sarah wrote that was published in the local newspaper,
Israel is taking on the Jellies! The article focuses on an increase in the jellyfish species in the Mediterranean Sea and the effects it has local tourism and coastal industrial installations. It is amazing to see Sarah’s hard work pay off and be published in the local news! This article was also published in The Jerusalem Post!
